Important Message from Dr. Cain
April 30, 2020 ~ To all WSD Staff
Good Morning,
As our communities begin to reopen for business, we are formulating a plan to open District buildings back up as well. We will be taking a slow, measured and phased-in approach to reopening and those details, specific to your building, will be shared by your building or department administrator next week. The phased-in approach, which will begin the week of May 11, will involve a portion of employees reporting in on certain days, and another portion reporting in on other days and will depend on your position and building.
This measured and gradual approach to reopen our buildings will be done in collaboration with the St. Charles County Department of Public Health, as we have done throughout the pandemic, in order to protect the safety and well-being of our students, staff, and community and to minimize the spread of COVID-19. It is imperative that we all continue to practice and model social distancing and good hygiene and respect for each other throughout this process.
Virtual Learning
Our virtual learning will continue through the end of the school year. We have been so impressed with the work of our teachers and our students as they access learning in new ways and we will continue to fine-tune and support those efforts.
Meal Distribution
Food distribution to our students in need will continue through the month of May. Details about the meal distribution program can be found with all the COVID-19 updates on the District website.
Building Access
We are developing a plan for small groups of employees to access buildings to retrieve personal items and close up their work spaces (9 and 10-month employees). Details will follow soon for that as well.
Self Care
We are here for you. We understand that everyone has unique and personal circumstances that you are navigating yourself at home. There are many resources available to you as District employees. If you need assistance, please reach out and continue to look out for your co-workers. We are all in this together.
As we work to reopen buildings, we know that you will have additional questions, and we will do our best to get you answers as soon as we have them. We are grateful for your continued patience and understanding as we navigate through this unprecedented time. Please take care of yourself and your family, and thank you for joining together to support each other and our students.
