Mission and Vision
Mable Woolsey Vision Statement: We will build a nurturing community of life long learners while fostering opportunities for social, emotional, and academic growth to ensure that we help create productive members of society.
Mable Woolsey Mission Statement: We will provide a safe and stimulating environment. We will nurture a rigorous and adaptive learning community. We will support a child's natural desire to learn. We will inspire students to discover their fullest potential.
A Note From the Principal
The IAR or Illinois Assessment for Readiness testing continues this week on Wednesday and Thursday for 3rd and 4th grade students. They will take one more English language arts test and one math test this week. It is so important that third and fourth grade students get a good night's sleep and eat a healthy breakfast everyday, but especially on testing days! We are excited to cheer them on for their testing as a whole school!
The MWES Carnival is coming up! Please see the sign up for volunteers below. You can sign up for more than one time slot.
Thank you,
Mrs. Keever
A Reminder about Pre-arranged and Extended Absences
PREARRANGED EXTENDED ABSENCES
Parents must notify the school and classroom teacher one week prior to taking a child out of school for a trip. This includes vacations, extended weekend trips, and family visits.
No advance work will be assigned prior to prearranged absences. The nature of our curriculum necessitates teacher assistance in making up work following a child’s return to school. The teacher, student, and parent will work together to ensure the student has met academic expectations within the classroom. Homework will be given to the student upon return. Students will have the number of days missed plus one additional day to complete the work.
Below are the rules posted at school for coats and jackets!
