Autumn Greetings!

December 2014

From the desk of Dr. Joshua Black, Executive Director of the Division of Adult Learning

Record Enrollment

At the campus we are celebrating DAL's enrollment going over 800 (804 to be exact) during Sessions A & B this fall, while the total university enrollment topped 5,000 students for the first time ever. We also now have 20 - 30 DAL students receiving their degrees at each Lee commencement 3 times per year now! You are on your way; keep going. We look forward to seeing you walk across the stage soon.

New Student Handbook Available Now

I am proud to announce that the Division of Adult Learning now has a DAL Student Handbook for distance students at Lee. This handbook applies to all undergraduate and graduate students at Lee who are in online programs or who attend the Charlotte Center. The student handbook will be updated annually as the Catalog is. You may review it here.

Charlotte Update

We are also very excited to welcome Dr. Jeff McGirt as the new Director of the Lee University Charlotte Center. Dr. McGirt moved into his new role in October. He comes to the position after serving more than 20 years in pastoral ministry in Western North Carolina. He has now moved from a part-time faculty member at Charlotte to directing the day-to-day operations and the ministerial training programs of Lee in Charlotte, North Carolina.

stay connected with livestream

Those of you that are taking classes in Session B may have noticed that a link to live streamed chapel services and campus events was added to each course. In Moodle, students and faculty can now see a link and a picture of the Lee Chapel inside of their course that leads them to Lee University’s “Video-on-Demand” page. Most of the fall chapel services, including fall convocation, have been live streamed. Music concerts, sporting events, and other campus events have also been streamed. Student and faculty feedback has been strong thus far in support of increasing the university’s steamed offerings. Please join us on the live stream!
As we go into the busy holiday season please enjoy your time visiting with friends and family. We pray that you are blessed and refreshed through this holiday season. We are very thankful that you are a Lee student at this amazing Christ-centered university.

May the Lord bless you and keep you!

PS - Remember that Session C classes begin on January 6th!

Division of Adult Learning

The Division of Adult Learning’s non-traditional approach feeds qualified students’ natural curiosity through online discussion, personal reflection, case studies, and text-driven contemplation. Highly qualified Lee University professors lead online and onsite courses that stimulate students’ intellectual growth, promote their spiritual development, and equip them for professional success.
