Attendance Tips for Easy Check out
LEAVING EARLY: We have over 3,000 students on a large campus, so in order to check out your student….
Have them bring in a note to the Attendance office before school or at break/lunch (but not during class time). They will be given a campus release pass authorizing them to leave campus and meet you at the front of the school at your requested release time. This is the quickest, most efficient method to pick up your student.
If no note was sent, leave a message at least one hour in advance of your requested check out time at 951-695-4200 Ext.150. Multiple calls come in at once, so you must leave a message for us in order to process your request.
No note and no phone call may result in a significant delay in having your child released. We are unable to interrupt instructional time by calling into classrooms and may not always have an aide to go to the classroom to have your student to come to the attendance office. Release time may be delayed until the end of the period.
Just a reminder….No student early Check out after 3:15 p.m.
Returning to school during school hours: If a student is checked out then returns to school later on that same day, they must check back in at the Welcome Center to get credit for the classes they attend.
To clear an absence: As a parent you need to verify your student's absence by either leaving a message on our 24-hour attendance line (951)695-4205 or send in an note. Please give:
Student’s legal name (spell it out completely)
Give the reason for his/her absence (illness, dental/doctor/court appointment or personal business)
The date of the absence
Your name, relationship to the student and a phone number to reach you
Teacher attendance errors: If a teacher incorrectly marks a student absent during the day, the student must contact the teacher who marked them absent to obtain an “Attendance Correction” form. That form must be turned into the Attendance Office to fix the error. The Infinite Campus Parent Portal will show you the exact period(s) missed.
Morning Drop Off Reminders
School begins promptly at 8:30 am. Please plan ahead and allow for traffic.
If you are dropping off in the student parking lot, please use the entrance on Nicolas Rd., drop off along the curb, and exit out through the Winchester Rd. exit (near the pool). The parking lot exit gate on Nicolas closes at 8:00 am. Trying to exit out of the gate on Nicolas after 8:00 am will cause delays and a backup to our morning traffic flow.
Other drop off areas include the visitor lot loop (no parking) and in the back loop near the stadium / entry from Roripaugh. Please DO NOT enter, park or drop off in the staff lot in the back.
