JHS NO HOMEWORK WEEKEND

In order to support family connection, rest, stress reduction and just plain fun, Jackson High School has implemented four planned no homework weekends for students and staff. This means no homework assigned, no projects due and no tests or quizzes the day students get back to school from that weekend.

If students have make-up work from previous absences, then they need to get this done to get caught up and have it ready to turn in.

Some CCP and Career Tech assignments are out of our control and may need done over these weekends according to those calendars. But, for the most part, students and staff can have long weekends where they don't need to worry about homework and can relax, recharge and destress!

This will happen on the following weekends:

  • October 7-10
  • January 13-16
  • February 17-20
  • April 7-9

WINTER SPORTS PRESEASON MEETING IS COMING UP!

  • Updated physical forms need to be turned into the office before you can begin practicing
  • Athletic Registration forms need to be turned in

JACKSON LOCAL SCHOOLS BACKPACK PROGRAM

We are pleased to be able to offer The Backpack Food Program, in partnership with RiverTree Jackson. This is a service for families in the Jackson Local School district with students in K-12. The goal of this program is to send home a variety of easy, ready-to-eat meals and snacks for your child to have over the weekend. There is absolutely no cost to our families to join this program. The bags will be delivered to your child’s school weekly, and sent home with students on the last day of the week that students are in school, usually Fridays.

Our first distribution will take place on Thursday, September 8. You may choose to participate at any time, but registration is needed by the Thursday of the week before, so for the first week, the deadline would be on Thursday, September 1.

This program is intended for families whose children are eligible for free/reduced meals. However, we understand some families may not be eligible for the free/reduced meal program, but are still in need of food. If you would like to opt in, please fill out the google form linked below (one for each student). Please know, all information you share with us is kept in the strictest confidence.

To apply to be part of the Backpack Food Program, all you need to do is fill out the quick application form by clicking the link below: (one for each student). Please know, all information you share with us is kept in the strictest confidence.
