Parking & Entrance for Parent Resource Meeting
If you are a parent of a special education student in the HG family of schools, please join us for a Parent Resource Meeting on Tuesday, January 21, in the Hazel Green High School Cafeteria from 9-10:30 a.m. We hope to see you there!
*Please park at the back of the school near the cafeteria. There are visitor parking spaces. Enter through door #44 on the left side of the courtyard at the back of HGHS.

HG Theatre's Spring Musical: Fifties rock ’n’ roll star Curtis Jackson pays a surprise visit during Homecoming week where he encounters hilarious characters and madcap hijinks: kidnappings; empty-headed waitresses; first loves; cheerleaders & biker gangs--just to name a few. To top it all off, add hilarious impersonations of ’famous fifties’ rock stars. This musical will really ’rock’ HGHS! Please join us for our first musical at The Green in many years--Ducktails & Bobbysox--April 24 and 25 at 7 p.m. in the HG Cafeteria. Tickets are $10 for adults and $8 for students.

Prom Tickets: Prom tickets are currently on sale for $60. Please see Mrs. Dean in C110 or Mrs. Bell in S137 to purchase a ticket. The last day to purchase a ticket for $60 is February 7th. TIckets will increase to $75 after this date.
Diamond Dolls: Attention 11th and 12th Grade Girls
Do you love baseball? If you do and are interested in assisting with home baseball games, apply for Diamond Dolls! Please come by Mrs. Baeder's room (N216) to get information and an application form. Application forms are due to Mrs. Baeder no later than Friday, January 17.
Medical Academy Internship: Medical Academy internship applications are ready to be picked up from Mrs. Thomson or Mrs. Frasier. Students must turn them in by January 31st.
ACT at HGHS: The ACT will be given at HGHS on Saturday, February 8. The regular registration deadline is Friday, January 10. Late registration ends January 17. Fee waivers for qualifying students are available in the Guidance Office and are good through late registration.
Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. Annual Honors Convocation: Each year, the Huntsville Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. hosts its annual Honors Convocation to recognize the accomplishments of local high school students in Huntsville City, Madison City, Madison County, and surrounding school districts who have achieved honor roll status during the first semester of the school year. This event is open to ALL students who have achieved honor roll status (A or A/B).
Students can apply online for this year's convocation at www.dsthuntsville.org (click the events tab to find the link to the application). Students will also need to see Mr. Heard in the Guidance Office for an official transcript to be sent to Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. The deadline to apply for the 41st Annual Honors Convocation is January 21, 2020. For those who do not have computer access, Mr. Heard also has paper copies of the application in the Guidance Office.
Yearbooks: Yearbooks are currently on sale for $65 at MySchoolFees. The price will increase to $70 on February 3rd.
Summer Driver's Ed Classes at HGHS: Spots are limited for the 2020 Summer Driver's Education Program hosted at HGHS. Registration is conducted through MySchoolFees. Classes are open to students who attend Madison County Schools, as well as out-of-district students. Please click on the link below for more information.

Trojan Trail Closed: The Trojan Trail will be closed on Saturday, March 14, 2020, for the Green Power Race.
Seniors
Balfour/Caps & Gowns: Seniors, do you need to pay for your cap and gown? You can pay by phone. Call Balfour in Birmingham at 205-733-1060. If you would like to pay in person, Balfour representatives will be on campus February 5th during breakfast and February 6th during lunch. Another option is to order your cap and gown online at alabamabalfour.com. Click on senior products, and the HGHS logo comes up. All products can be purchased online.
Senior Follies: Emcee auditions for Senior Follies will be January 21st in the Black Box. Please sign up with Mrs. Brady (N120). You will need to have a 2-3 minute prepared opening to present.
Senior Follies: Senior Follies participants are reminded to bring their signed forms to Mrs. Brady. All seniors should sign up for the Follies Remind (@f2dK6e) to keep up with information and upcoming dates.
Yearbook Senior Ad Sales: Senior Ads are currently on sale. They will remain on sale while space is available. Click the link below for information about buying senior ads in the yearbook.
Local Scholarship for Female Seniors: If you are a female senior and have a 3.0 or higher GPA, an 18 or higher ACT, and are actively involved in the school and community, you may qualify for a local $1,000 scholarship. See Mrs. Jagielski in the Guidance Office about this scholarship.

Online Application for Free/Reduced Meals: Online free and reduced meal applications are available at the link below for a faster, more confidential way to apply. A new application must be completed each school year to qualify for free or reduced meals. Your child's eligibility status carries over to the new school year for the first 30 school days, allowing parents time to re-apply. Only one application per household should be submitted, and everyone living in the house must be included on the application.
