Why were these Text Sets Included With This Lesson?
Each of these text sets would benefit a lesson on cells. The picture book would get the lesson started and allow the students to use their prior-knowledge about cells, while listening to new information being read aloud. Both websites include vast information about cells and their functions and structures. The websites would benefit students research skills. The journal about stem cells is to give students another look into cells and their functions within the body. This gives them multiple opportunities for learning. Both videos are great resources for students to visualize what cells are and how they work. The videos don't have to be watched entirely but can be clipped to fit any part of the lesson.
