First UMC Sealy Digest

A look at happenings at First United Methodist Church Sealy

This Sunday, May 29: New Sermon Series Debuts at 8 & 10 am , 2016 Senior Recognition and a 5th Sunday Potluck!

We are in the Season after Pentecost for approximately the next six months. During Easter Season, the church forms people in basic Christian doctrine and prepares them for their Spirit-given ministries in the world. Now, during the Season after Pentecost, the church challenges and supports people as they live out these ministries.

Last week, Trinity Sunday, launched us into our ministries after Pentecost with a celebration of the Triune God in whom all our lives and ministries are grounded. We end the Season after Pentecost on Christ the King Sunday, which points us to our final destination in the culmination of the reign of the one who makes us and all things new.

During these months, Pastor Curtis will be alternately focusing on readings from the epistles and the prophets. Most Sundays we will be reading both, so we can follow both teachings, but he will switch the sermons at key point to keep you on your toes.

Join us for another 5th Sunday Fellowship this Sunday! Every time a month has five Sundays, we take advantage of the occasion and enjoy a great meal together after the 10 am Sunday worship. Whether you bring a dish or not, join us this Sunday for some fun and fellowship!
