Happy New Year!

I was so glad to see everyone on Monday. Everyone looked refreshed and ready to be get back to work. I was really impressed in how well the children stepped right back into the classroom routines. I hope you all had a relaxing and fun filled holiday season.

We had a great time on Friday with our 4th grade buddies who came eager to work your children and volunteered to help take them to lunch. We love having them come to our class. The children love having someone reading with them and we love having the opportunity for the students to work on their social skills.

Please look at the photos from our Box Top Party. We got to celebrate the success of a team effort with Popsicles and popcorn.

Our Amazing 4th Grade Buddies

January in the Classroom

This month our Unique unit focuses on Science. We will be looking at how temperature can change a solid to a liquid. We are also identify which body parts we use when we use our senses. So expect to to hear the Heads and Shoulders, Knees and Toes song!

Fitting in with our recent change in the season, we are learning about the clothes we wear when it is winter. The students will use their visual skills to match pictures of winter clothes, use their senses to feel the texture of clothes, and use their number sense to count items. We are also going to ask the students to practice opening and closing fasteners on clothes.

We will continue to work on our number and shape identification, counting, matching letters and lots of cutting and glueing.
