News from PTO

The annual PTO Holiday Bazaar will be Saturday, December 7th in the McNair gym from 8:00 a.m. - noon. This event gives students an opportunity to by gifts for family members at a discounted rate. Helpers will be on hand to help students shop and to wrap gifts once their shopping is complete. While you are out, stop by the Winnebago High School cafetorium to check out the Winnovation robotics club pancake breakfast.

The next PTO meeting will be held in the McNair library on Tuesday, December 10th at 4:00 p.m.

2nd grade concert

Our second grade students will perform at their concert, which will be held the evening of Tuesday, December 17th. Two classes will perform together at the following times:

6:00 - Mrs. Buttel's and Mrs. Waggoner's classes

7:00 - Mrs. Canales's and Mrs. Reinke's classes

We hope you will be able to join us as second graders perform the songs they have practiced!

Dress-up Days Just for Fun

During the week of December 16th, we will have theme days for some additional fun leading into the break. The schedule of theme days is:

Monday - Flannel and Fuzzy Socks

Tuesday - Blizzard Out - wear anything white

Wednesday - Candy Cane Day - wear red and white or stripes

Thursday - Pajama day

Friday - Brrr!! It's cold outside - bundle up in your favorite winter scarf.

Break: December 21st - January 5th

After Thanksgiving wraps up, it isn't long until our Winter break. Please reference the dates above for your schedules. School will resume on Monday, January 6th.

Please note that Friday, December 20th will be an early release with Simon dismissing at 12:40 and all other schools in the district dismissing at 1:00.

2nd Grade Accelerated Reader Competition is On!

Our second graders have begun a class challenge to see which class can earn the most AR points. The winning class will receive a ice cream party. The challenge will wrap up on January 24th. Good luck and happy reading!

Staying Healthy This Winter

There are a number of ways to stay healthy during the winter months. One of the biggest things that helps keep everyone well is by following good handwashing practices. But, this is not the only thing you can do to help keep your child healthy this winter. Here are some ideas for children's wellness:
