The Rocky River Rundown

Updates on all things Tech and Media

What does Data Driven Instruction Look Like?

We all have the same goals in mind- improve student learning. This involves us teaching content, formally / informally assessing the knowledge retained, and then reflecting on that data to make an action plan or next steps.

How can we achieve this at Rocky River?

We have MANY tools and strategies to help us with data in the classroom. This can come from both informal and formal assessments or classroom observations. The key to all of the data we collect is REFLECTION.

Our classroom instructions should include core learning, but even then, data can help to make personalization. According to the MTSS process, we then need to use data to drive our targeted instruction of up to 15% of our students and intensive interventions to up to 5% of our students.

This Month's Challenge

E/I time is a perfect example of what data driven instruction should look like. Use the Community Sharing Calendar to sign up for folks to come and see what you are doing during that time, and how you organize it. Those who participate will be entered into a drawing to win a holiday surprise:)

The Media Center is Available!

Ms. Jayne and Mrs. Kouwe would love to have visitors come and set up camp in the Rocky River Media Center. There is plenty of space for students to come and work on projects, do some research, or even enjoy some DEAR time. Email Ms. Jayne for times available and take advantage of all that the media center has to offer.
