Every Student Counts, Every Moment Matters!
A Message from Principal Webb
Longfellow had a busy week this week and will continue the fun into next week! Kindergarten went on a field trip, and had a class visitor that taught them about leaves and trees.
The entire student body got to build and create with the Iowa Children's Museum Box Party at recess. Then we finished the week by celebrating positive behavior at our monthly PBIS assembly!
This coming Wednesday is our Fall (Halloween) classroom celebrations and parade. We hope the weather stays nice so you can join us outside for our costume parade. There will be an alternate activity available for those that do not want to participate.
Enjoy the beautiful fall day!

Box Party for Longfellow Students held Friday!
The Children's Museum "Not a Box Party" came to Longfellow! Students loved building and creating with boxes during recess. Thank you so much to the ICM and our parent volunteers that made this possible on Friday.
Counselor's Corner
Fall (Halloween) Parade and Party
Parade Details: Please try to join us for the all school parade beginning at 1:45pm. A weather
determination will be made on Tuesday as to whether the route will be inside or outside.
Good weather – students will parade outside—exiting door #6. The students will be called out by classes to parade with teachers past the playground closest to the building and continue around the car line circle drive. The upper-grade students performing the Thriller dance will be in the circle drive as well. Poor weather – Kindergarten will begin the parade by coming to first grade classrooms—students will add on to the parade line in the following order—K, 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 6th, 5th and end in the gym. Parents can line the perimeter of the gym and we will meet you there.
**Once the parade is over, students will return to classrooms to pack up costumes and celebrate with classmates.
Checking Students Out Early: If you make the determination to take your child with you after the
parade, please check out with Mrs. Nkumu in the office AND tell your classroom teacher! We care about the safety of all students.
