Safety Awareness Month: April
The month of April is Severe Weather Awareness Month. During the week of April 9th, schools practice their severe weather procedures which include tornado drills. These drills are designed to put students in an assigned safe area should a tornado strike.
Along with tornado drills, we will also be reviewing our school safety drills. These can be used for incidents both inside the school, or on the streets around our school. The drill is designed to secure the school building while keeping students in safe locations. Just like fire and tornado drills, having a plan in place for safety issues helps schools react to situations that may arise.
