2nd & 3rd Grade
Week of April 25
Class Newsletter
In Religion we continue with our lessons for First Holy Communion. The children are excited about the upcoming Baptisms of their classmates: Anderson, Lucy and Flynn. Please plan on attending this special mass on May 5.
Crowning of Mary: At the same mass for the Baptisms we will be crowning Mary, Our Lady Queen of Heaven and Earth. Please send your child with fresh flowers on that day. Thursday, May 5th. Mass is at 9:00
Our Math classes are constantly reviewing and learning. We reviewed finding Equivalent fractions, Multiplication concepts - I cannot stress the need for the children to memorize those facts. Have your child just say the multiples to you daily.
2,4,6,8,10,12,14,16.18.20

and so forth. Keep going as high they can.
We are now reading James and the Giant Peach, by Roald Dahl. I hope to inspire the children to want to read more on their own.
Earth Day Project: The students were so excited to make a reusable bag out of a T-shirt. We are planning on having them use it when we go on our fieldtrip to the Farmers' Market on Thursday, May 12.
We also made fun 'stuff' with recyclable materials. Their imaginations ran wild. We used old bags, plastic containers, discarded spoons, cans, just so many things that we throw away.
