Thank You from the CRES PTO…
We would like to express a HUGE ‘thank you” to everyone who gave of their time, talent, or treasure this year in support of the CRES PTO. Whether you supported teacher appreciation events, served as a room parent or committee chairperson, volunteered at one of our amazing events, or served the PTO in many other important and valued ways – THANK YOU!! The CRES PTO would not be possible without all of our amazing families coming together to support our students, teachers, and CRES community.
We had an extremely successful year with many great memories made – Ice Cream Social, Grillin’ and Chillin’, Roadrunner Rally, CRES Fest and SO much more! With all that we have to celebrate, we look forward to another amazing year next year!
Meet your 2017-2018 PTO Executive Board
President – Jessica Benjamin
Hi! My name is Jessica Benjamin and I am excited about being a part of CRES PTO executive board for the 2017-2018 school year as the president! I served last year on the executive board as the Vice-President and prior to that I was a class room mom for 2 years.
I am married to an amazingly funny, drive-me-crazy, great catch type of guy and mom to my treasured trio, two boys (Zion, 10, 5th grade and Israel, 8, 2nd grade) and a girl (Bella, 5, Kindergarten). I have a degree in Early Childhood Education and taught Pre-K for many years, but am now venturing into being a homemaker for the present time.
I enjoy spending time with God, family, and friends. I also like playing games of all sorts and enjoying outdoors when Indiana weather and my allergies choose to cooperate. I love arts and crafts, music, all things Disney and superhero, and chocolate, lots of chocolate! I am looking forward to and excited about getting the opportunity to continue to support our amazing CRES school, staff, and families in this upcoming year!
Vice-President – Neil Burnworth
I'm the proud parent of Alexandra and Tristan Burnworth. Alex is in 4th Grade, Mr. Greiwe, and Tristan is in Kindergarten, Mr. Niswander.
I have many hobbies, my favorite is SCUBA Diving. I have been a diver since the age of 12. I received my Instructor’s Certification when I was 26. I have dove in 18 different countries. I have also certified over 450 divers ranging from Open Water to Wreck Diving.
My favorite dive destination is Grand Cayman, my "Home away from Home". One of my best diving experiences was in 2000. I was in the middle of the Coral Sea, on the Spoil Sport with 35 fellow divers, when the Year 2000 was ushered in.
I'm looking forward to assisting the CRES PTO.
Treasurer – Heather Kestian
My name is Heather Kestian. I am a working mom of three boys and have lived in Fishers since 2010. We love CRES and this next school year will be the one year all of our boys are under one school roof!
I'm looking forward to the opportunity to learn more about CRES and help out Roadrunners and their families!
Secretary – Omotola Owoeye
My name is Omotola Owoeye, but I go by “Tola.” I am a student at Ivy Tech Community College and I have a family a four. I believe so much in family, not only in my immediate family, but in my extended family as well.
I enjoy dancing, cooking, shopping, reading, cycling, hanging out with friends, and meeting new friends. Nothing compares to the simple pleasures of a bike ride. I also enjoy traveling – Dubai being one of my favorite places to visit.
I truly appreciate the privilege to be a member of the PTO board.
Member-at-Large – Chasity Davis
I'm excited to be on the Cumberland Road Elementary PTO board. My children are excited as well. I have 3 little ones that attend HSE schools. Selwyn who's in the 9th grade at Fishers High, Chase who's in Ms Hale's 3rd grade class and lastly Eden in Mr. N's kindergarten class.
My goals are to 1) hang out with my children as much as possible and 2) support their learning.
I enjoy music, traveling and eating... not necessarily cooking.
Top Cycle Tuesday - Box Tops
Thank you to everyone who clipped, snipped, and submitted their Box Tops for May’s Top Cycle Tuesday event. The following classrooms earned a popcorn party for turning in the most Box Tops for their grade level:
Kindergarten – Mrs. Dwyer
1st Grade – Mrs. McKinney
2nd Grade – Mrs. Coldren
3rd Grade – Mr. Koewers
4th Grade – Mr. Greiwe
Congratulations to those winning classrooms and thank you to all those that submitted their Box Tops throughout the year. Please continue to clip and save those Box Tops over the summer!
Summer speech and language activities for your child/children
Dear Parents of Speech Students,
Want to avoid the dreaded “summer slide?” Need some activities to help your kids practice their speech and language skills? Please see attached calendars for summer speech and language activities for your child/children. If you are not sure what sound or skills your child is working on, that information can be found in your child’s progress note/IEP (or ask your child!). If your child brings back the calendar signed with at least 15 squares colored in, he/she will earn a prize! Feel free to tailor the activities to your child’s likes/needs. Have a great summer!

Early Release Mondays Coming to HSE
Dear HSE Parents and Guardians:
To provide teachers with consistent and more frequent opportunities for professional development, Hamilton Southeastern Schools will implement a 20-minute, early-release day each Monday for students, K-12, beginning with the 2017-2018 school year. In turn, teachers will remain 25 minutes later on Mondays for a total of 45 minutes of professional development time each week. The first observance will be Monday, August 14, 2017.
The new weekly meetings will replace the four professional development half days currently in the 2016-2017 calendar. A link to the 2017-2018 school calendar is below:
http://www.hse.k12.in.us/resources/pdf/ADM/calendars/districtCalendar1718.pdf
High-quality teaching remains the standard in Hamilton Southeastern Schools, and we look forward to advancing professional development. We realize that such a change – once a week – impacts your schedules, and you need as much advance notice as possible to plan for next year. Thank you for your cooperation, and your continuous support of our teachers and students.
Sincerely,
HSE Schools
