To Enhance the Quality for ALL...
The City Council held a special council meeting on Friday morning to accept the results of the 4/4 election. Appreciation of Service was extended to Andrew Kowalski for 3 years & Sharon Powell for 9 years of service, 3 years as Mayor. City Clerk issued the Oath of Office to new council members Gary Renne & Reggie St. John. The new Council was seated & selected Mark Spohn to serve as Mayor & Stephen Spear to serve as Mayor Pro-Tem.
Highlighting community leaders serving on Parks & Recreation Board - Scott Buckman, Patrick Halfhill, Sherri Branson-Hurt, Terri Irons, Jessica Meyers, Jacob Simmons, Kyle Uptegrove & Zachary Wilkins. The Parks & Recreation Board meets monthly to consider matters that pertain to maintaining public parks in ES. Thank you for your leadership & care for our park system. ES' beauty is in part due to our extensive Park System, which is integral to providing amenities to visitors coming to ES for rest & relaxation.
Last Week
- MDNR will require all public water systems to complete an inventory of lead service lines by mid-2024. ES has 4200 lines to inventory & lead is not a common material found
- Community Center held a Job Fair at the High School to recruit Lifeguards
- Tickets for the 5/4 Mayor's Prayer Breakfast [$10] are on sale.
- Work at outdoor pool is completing the deck, next up is plastering pool walls, filling the pool with water, getting treatment in order & lifeguard training. Work is also underway on the parking lot extension & the pond dam.
- Preliminary findings from the TEAP study are in for US 69 between 92 HWY & Hospital.
