Catholic Schools Week (CSW)
Thank you for another great week and I hope everyone is enjoying their weekend. This week marks a special week for Catholic schools around the nation with Catholic Schools Week. Catholic Schools Week (CSW) is the week-long tradition of celebrating all the people and elements that make a Catholic school. Traditionally, CSW looks vastly different from this year’s plan with Cougar Games and pep rallies, along with other group activities. Regardless, we will make the best of it and we have a great week planned. Throughout the course of the week, students will be participating in activities such as: writing projects, Bible scavenger hunt, making Valentine cards for residents at Mt. Alverna and Holy Family, gathering soup for our food pantry, whole-school Bingo, and much more. While this year has created some new obstacles for everyone, we hope this week will be fun for everyone.
As many may have noticed in the CSW flyer that went home with families on Thursday, this year’s theme is Superheroes. Truly a fitting theme for what everyone has endured this past year. With this theme, we do have different superhero themes on different days. Some days will be a dress down, while others will be accessories with their uniform. To be consistent across all interpretations of this meaning, on accessory days students will be permitted to wear shirts with the themed color similar to spirit wear days with the lower half of their school uniform. In addition, students may include other accessories aligned with the theme.
Please do not hesitate to reach out with any questions and we hope to have another great week!
School Closure - Snow Storms
Typically, in the event Parma City Schools are closed, St. Anthony of Padua will also close. This year has been different since we are our in-person schedules have been opposite. In the event of a snowstorm and Parma cancels school, St. Anthony will also be closed. You will always get a call from the school in the event school is cancelled. St. Anthony of Padua will also appear on the news stations, but there can be a delay from when the news stations are notified to the time it appears on tv. It is always likely that families will receive a call from me, prior to seeing it on tv. My process for notification is to always notify families first, then news stations.
Faith Direct - Online Payments Now Available
Good news for families as St. Anthony will now offer online tuition payments through Faith Direct. With Faith Direct families can use debit/credit cards with the option of making one-time payments or recurring payments. Faith Direct can also process payments directly from your bank account. Faith Direct can be accessed through the parish website, under the “Donate” tab or at this link, https://membership.faithdirect.net/OH340. Once at the site, choose which type of payment you wish to make, then select “School Tuition” to enter the amount. Proceed to follow the next steps to process your payment. We do hope this new option will help families with making their payments and link will be added to our website.

Valentine's Day Cards
For Valentine’s Day, we will allow students to bring in cards and candies for their classmates. Our only condition is that any food is prepackaged and the Valentines are brought in by Tuesday, February 9. We will let the cards sit for 2 days prior to being distributed to classmates.
