PRINCIPAL MESSAGE/ MENSAJE DE LA DIRECTORA

Dear Dolland Parents and Students,

Spring is upon us and we have so much to celebrate! Trimester 2 Report Cards will be sent home in the next week and we want to ensure all students are ready for the upcoming grade level. Please review the report card with your child and set goals for Trimester 3. The following two and half months will fly by and we want students to finish strong.

This year, 3rd-5th grade students will be taking the SBAC state assessment. Teachers have been gearing up and doing practice review to ensure students are ready. Since we have not taken these assessments in the last two years, due to the pandemic, it will be a first time for many of our students.

Everyone received a letter from our wonderful Superintendent, Mr. John Lopez. Mr. Lopez shared updates to the COVID-19 mandates. As of March 14th, students will not be required to wear a mask. It will be strongly recommended but optional. This brings some hope to getting things back to normal. The pandemic has affected many in our community and we want to work closely with all of you to make sure we can support and help students catch up on missed learning opportunities. If your child has missed school due to illness, up to 15 days, we can recoup their attendance by completing work assignments at home during the period of time they are out. Please reach out to your teacher for these assignments.

Please look forward to receiving information regarding our end of year activities and celebrations. We are awaiting more updated county mandates to let us know what will be allowed for our promotion celebrations. There is much more work we need to accomplish before the end of our school year. Please partner with us to finish strong!

MENSAJE PRINCIPAL/ MENSAJE DE LA DIRECTORA

Estimados padres y estudiantes de Dolland:

¡La primavera ha llegado y tenemos mucho que celebrar! Las boletas de calificaciones del segundo trimestre se enviarán a casa la próxima semana y queremos asegurarnos de que todos los estudiantes estén listos para el próximo nivel de grado. Revise la boleta de calificaciones con su hijo y establezca metas para el tercer trimestre. Los siguientes dos meses y medio pasarán volando y queremos que los estudiantes terminen bien.

Este año, los estudiantes de 3° a 5° grado tomarán la evaluación estatal SBAC. Los maestros se han estado preparando y revisandola para asegurarse de que los estudiantes estén listos. Dado que no hemos tomado estas evaluaciones en los últimos dos años, debido a la pandemia, será la primera vez para muchos de nuestros estudiantes.

Todos recibieron una carta de nuestro maravilloso Superintendente, el Sr. John López. El Sr. López compartió actualizaciones sobre los mandatos de COVID-19. A partir del 14 de marzo, no se requerirá que los estudiantes usen mascarilla. Será muy recomendable pero opcional. Esto trae algo de esperanza para que las cosas vuelvan a la normalidad. La pandemia ha afectado a muchos en nuestra comunidad y queremos trabajar en estrecha colaboración con todos ustedes para asegurarnos de que podamos apoyar y ayudar a los estudiantes a recuperar las oportunidades de aprendizaje perdidas. Si su hijo ha faltado a la escuela debido a una enfermedad, hasta 15 días, podemos recuperar su asistencia completando el trabajo escolar en casa durante el tiempo de su ausencia. Comuníquese con su maestro/a para estas tareas.

Espere recibir información sobre nuestras actividades y celebraciones de fin de año. Estamos esperando más mandatos actualizados del condado para informarnos qué se permitirá para nuestras celebraciones de promoción. Hay mucho más trabajo que debemos lograr antes del final de nuestro año escolar. ¡Por favor, unase a nosotros para terminar fuerte!

Music and PE Program: Our school Music and PE Program has started and will be every Monday. Please make sure your child has a good breakfast and brings a bottle water. Ask your child to share what they learned. Wear your sneakers.
