Afternoon Duty
Please be at your duty station promptly. We understand that you sometimes have students in your room, that you have to attend to personal needs, so we try to wait a reasonable amount of time before having the all-call reminder made. It is very disheartening to watch people exit the building and go straight to their vehicle 5 minutes after the bell rings. It takes EVERY ONE OF US to make the changes we want to make and it is not fair to our Adams Family to expect that others will pick up the slack. It is especially important that we all do our part these last days of school.
Thank you in advance for being there this week.
Lunch Duty
Thank you for your consideration!
Monday and Friday
We will meet in the Library on Monday morning at 8:15 to review the process and take care of any last minute questions you may have.
Thursday Afternoon Bowling!
If you are not going to bowl, we hope that you will join us and cheer us on. It is a lot of fun just being together in a fun and relaxing atmosphere.
Beautification Committee Meeting Monday at 3:45
June 1, 4, 5, and 6
June 5th and 6th have been designated as "teacher work days". These are days where you may work on whatever it is you need to complete--grades, turn in equipment, pack up your room, etc.
REFLECTIONS
Find some time this week to reflect upon this year. Think about things you did that worked well, and things that didn't work well; think about changes you made to improve student learning, improve delivery of instruction, and to improve classroom management.
All in all, it has been a very good year. Your administrative team is in the process of analyzing discipline for the year and will of course be sharing that with you. You will find quite a lot of information in the shared document "WAMS Academic and Discipline Information". There is also a link to this information at the bottom of this newsletter. The next round of STAAR scores for reading and math should be in this week, as well. We will get those out to you as soon as we can.
Next year we will continue our PBIS work and our Restorative Discipline work, and be more faithful to those. We will continue to build positive-student relationships, and, I hope, help our students improve their social skills.
As you all know, we do not live in a perfect world. Many of our students come from difficult home lives and many we know nothing about in terms of what they are going through and working to overcome. But, if we have made a difference for just one, then we have had a good year. I believe we have made a difference for many, many students.
My sincerest thanks to each of you who have made a difference for our students.
