November 26-29-Thanksgiving break--no class (face to face or online)

- online lessons only on Monday, November 25th.

Thurs., December 12th-- last Independent Study Lab (ISL) for the semester.
Tues., December 17 and Weds., December 18 @ 9am and 1pm
-End of semester celebration during each session. ALL learning coaches are invited to attend our end of semester celebration. We will have cookies and juice, awards ceremony, and games (even for the adults!).
Wednesday, December 18th---LAST DAY TO TURN IN WORK FOR ALL GRADES
2 hour late start & early dismissal for inclement weather
The district's plan is to announce late start and/or early dismissal for inclement weather the night before, NOT the day of. Either way, we need a plan so when this does occur, we are prepared.
WHEN OMAHA PUBLIC SCHOOLS announce a 2 hour late start or early dismissal, these are our procedures:
2 hour Late start
K5
- Students: ALL (AM/PM session) students attend afternoon session 1-4pm
Middle School
- MS Students: ALL (AM/PM session) students attend afternoon session 12:30-3:30
- HS Students: Students attend the afternoon session 11:30-3:30
2 hour Early Dismissal
K5
- Students: ALL (AM/PM session) students attend morning session 9-noon
Middle School
- MS Students: ALL (AM/PM session) students attend morning session 8:30-11:30am
- HS Students: Students attend the morning session 8:30-12:30pm
OVS YEARBOOK!
This year, our high school English teacher, Mrs. Kitko, and her journalism and yearbook students will be creating a school-wide yearbook!!!!
AND you have the opportunity to contribute to the yearbook.
This coming week you will be receiving an email from TreeRing yearbook company. It may go to your junk folder, so please make sure you are looking out for it.
This email has details on how to:
- create your two custom pages for your learner,
- order your yearbook (cost $19.84)
- find any other information you may need to know about the yearbook.
If there are any questions, or at least one person in your household does not get the email from TreeRing by the end of next week, please email Mrs. Kitko as soon as possible at christmas.kitko@ops.org.

Hour of Code!!!

The Hour of Code is coming! We will be participating at OVS in class, but you can participate at home, too!!

OPS Tech Trainer, Eileen Heller will be hosting a webinar to learn more about the Hour of Code
on Wednesday, Nov. 20th, 4:30-5pm
- During the Hour of Code webinar, we will share some tips for getting started with the Hour of Code, demonstrate an activity from code.org, and answer any questions you may have. We will share a link to the webinar after for those who are unable to attend.
