Wednesday, Jan 5th

On Wednesday, January 5th we will begin the day in Homeroom. This will allow homeroom teachers to check in with students, give them their new schedules, remind them of their locker combinations, and answering any questions they might have. We will have our same Wednesday dismissal time of 2:44.

New Hood Policy

Hoods are not allowed to be worn in our building according to the Westside Community Schools Handbook. This is considered a safety issue, as it is extremely important for staff to be able to identify anyone in the building. We continue to have an issue with students not following this expectation therefore we will implement the following consequences for not having hoods off. Students will be given this information in Homeroom when we return from break. Since this will be pre-taught, students will not be given warnings upon implementation. When they have a hood on, they will immediately be issued a referral.

It will be from 8am to 10am on Saturdays.

Lost and Found Items

We will be cleaning out our lost and found over break. Anything that is not claimed by Tuesday, December 21st, will be cleared out. Please make sure your student stops by the main office if they are missing anything.

TAGG

Westside Middle School participates in TAGG. TAGG has a growing list of participating businesses who will donate a portion of what you spend there to our school. WMS uses these funds to help support our school PBIS store and extra supplies teachers need throughout the year.

This is a fast and easy way to help our building without fundraising. Watch this video to see how it works. https://youtu.be/WS2u4s1J63c
