Greetings, Lincoln Students and Families.
Update on Red Cross Shelter:
The shelter will remain open through this Sunday, February 4. Our district’s Children and Youth in Transition Department is working with affected families to get motel vouchers. If you have been displaced from your home because of the flood or if you are still sleeping in your home and experienced flood damage, please fill out this FORM so we can provide you with assistance.
Campus Safety:
Entrance to the Red Cross shelter is located behind our school on the corner of Franklin Ave. and Gloria Street. The district has provided additional security and school police to ensure no one from the public is interacting with our students nor has access to our campus beyond the New Gym. Our campus remains open and all students are expected to attend school. If you have any questions or concerns about campus safety, please contact Gerardo Constantino at 619-895-9329 or gconstantino@sandi.net

Black History Month Starts THURSDAY!
In Honor of Black History Month our first campuswide activity will be a Positive Affirmation Lincoln Legacy March, Friday February 2nd 11:00 am during the last 45 minutes of 2nd period. Our participation goal is for Teachers & Staff on campus to model the changes we would like to see made for and through students. What this looks like is teachers participating in this call to action by facilitating sign making in class or using the supplies available at the march and encouraging student sign making. Most importantly we would love for teachers and staff to actually participate in the march, carry signs and join in on the chants as we walk from the bottom of Lincoln Lane up to center quad. Given the current circumstances and stressors on our community, we know that morale is low. This is a chance for us to collectively uplift and speak life into our kids and model what Hornet pride & self-love looks like. If we would like to see a change in school culture we must take the first steps and guide our students into reclaiming the Hornet Spirit. We hope that you will see the value in this exercise and help begin the great shift that our students deserve.

Community Schools Corner: UPDATED WEEKLY
As a community school, it is important to us that we listen to everyone who cares for our students. Parents and guardians are an essential part of our students’ success. Over the next five years, Lincoln will receive close to $2 million that goes towards our Community Schools initiatives. Participating in this survey is one way to have a say in how the money is spent. We need all of our Lincoln parents and guardians to complete the short survey about the school’s needs. The survey is voluntary and we ask that you select the answer that best represents your feelings. This survey was created based on parent/guardian responses from other surveys. Given the recent flooding, your voice will help us address immediate and long term needs.

Parent Guardian Survey: SPANISH
All families who submit a response will be entered into an opportunity drawing for a $100 gift card.
- We still have Community Schools Funding available for this school year. One way our students can benefit from these funds is for school events and field trips for your class or club that align with the four community schools pillars. If you would like to make a funding request, please fill out the 23-24 Lincoln Community Schools Funding Request Form. Send any questions to Adam Armas (aarmas2@sandi.net).
- FEMA is looking for students for the Youth Preparedness Council. Given the recent flooding our community has experienced, it is important our youth have an active voice in this committee. The online application is now open, and closes March 4, 2024 at 11:59 p.m. PT. To learn more about the YPC and application requirements, visit Ready.gov/kids/youth-preparedness-council and visit https://community.fema.gov/PreparednessCommunity/s/apply-to-ypc to apply. FEMA will also host a webinar for potential applicants on Feb. 27, 2024. Join to learn more about the program and how to apply.
