Ray Charles! - Cause and Effect
The element that Ray Charles faced is that he is blind. The effect of that is he showed the world that they cannot underestimate him, and he can do what he wants, if he loves what he does. He has been the inspiration of many other important people in society such as Stevie Wonder, Aretha Franklin, Van Morrison, and even Elvis Presley! He has showed the world to not let their disabilities take over their dreams. What Ray has done is work hard, study, and be the best that he can be! Ray Charles has showed the world to overcome their advertises and try harder. If you fail you need to try again! Ray Charles has impacted people such as myself even today after his death to persevere through life, and to not give up.
Ray and His Brother- Description
Ray Charles was very considerate and intelligent as child, although he did get a little aggressive at times, he was a great older brother. He had one younger sibling named George. When Ray and George were playing around outside, in their front yard, George stumbled and tumbled into a tub of water and drowned. Ray had saw his own brother drown, this was something he cannot forget! Charles may have just saw the most terrifying image and he needs to find a way to get over this adversity. He had to talk about that situation to find out how to stop those awful thoughts from traveling inside his head. He has lived with this, and he became successful, because he persevered through his adversity.
Ray and the piano-Sequence
Ray was born in the early years of the Great Depression. Ray Charles family was very poor. He watched his younger brother drown. Soon after, Ray began to loose his eye sight. In the early years of Charles life, he practiced piano as much as he could. He said that the first thing he did when he came home from school was practice! After watching his brother die, Ray became depressed. While he played piano, ray has been quoted to say he blocks out the whole world, and the only thing that he thinks of is playing the beautiful instrument. Ray's blindness has required him to use his strong memory of music and his gift of speech to get through life. Finally, Ray Charles died at the age of 73, in 2004.
