Author Visit

Robin Preiss Glasser, illustrator of the FANCY NANCY series of books, came to visit pre-kindergarten, kindergarten, first grade, and second grade students at MWE today. The students really enjoyed it. We loved seeing the students and teachers dress FANCY for the special event. We want to thank Ms. Glasser, Ms. Bethel, and Blue Willow for putting this together for our students!

Spark Park - Important Info.

We are so privileged to have our Spark Park, where our children can play during school hours and the community can utilize in the afternoons and evenings. We would like to remind you of some guidelines for the park:

1. During the school day, the park is for school use only. After school hours, there is no adult supervision available. We strongly encourage you to accompany your child to the park and monitor him/her at all times. Please remember that there is COMMUNITY access, so people of all ages can use the park amenities.

2. Bikes, skateboards, roller blades, etc., are not to be used within the park.

3. Please leave the park better than you found it (i.e., pick up your trash, etc.). There are trashcans located in the park.

4. If you notice broken equipment, etc., please email Ms. Labiosa at Shirley.labiosa@springbranchisd.com to report it.

Reminder - April 20 - Make up day

Due to the bad weather we had in January and the two school days missed, we will need to make up one of the two days.

Friday, April 20, 2018, is a designated bad-weather make-up day on our 2017-18 Academic Calendar and will be activated as the make-up day for January 16. This will be a regular school day for all students and staff.

A second student make-up day is not required due to the fact that our schools have sufficient minutes built into their master schedules to meet the state’s requirement of 75,600 minutes for an academic year.

As always, we thank you for your continued support of SBISD. Again, April 20, 2018, will now be a regular school day.
