Parks Press for Parents

Rosa Parks/Millbrook ISSDA

March 8-12, 2021

Our Mission

The staff of Rosa Parks/Millbrook in collaboration with parents and community, will pursue excellence as we walk in our purpose to develop the whole child, academically and socially, and ensure that all students take responsibility for their learning and reach self-sustaining success.

We are in our final week before Spring Break. I want to encourage you to make sure your student is engaged in their live class sessions and completing all assignments. We want everyone to finish strong before the break and have a relaxing break. We have spent the entire school year in a virtual world. Please limit your child's screen time during the break. I definitely encourage you to put away their district technology to avoid the risk of any damage taking place over the break as well.

For some great ways to engage your child, check out these tips from the article, 7 Ways to Plan Ahead for a Relaxing March Break at Home by Stephanie Slate & Sara Smeaton

Here are 7 ways planning ahead can help keep spring break screen time to a minimum and have a relaxing week at home.

1. Create guidelines

“A hundred years from now it will not matter, what my bank account was, the sort of house I lived in, or the kind of car I drove; but the world would be different because I was important in the life of a child.”
