News and Notes from the Den
National Arab American Heritage Month and Autism Acceptance Month
As the third marking period comes to an end and we enter into the final marking period, the students in the high school have made tremendous academic and social progress through the year. Gratefully, after two quick school days, we have a well deserved break for our students, teachers and staff. Remember, CAP's Spring Break goes from April 5th-10th and we resume classes on the 11th.
In this final stretch run, students continue preparing for Keystone and AP exams (May) and our seniors are putting the finishing touches on their graduation projects. At the end of the month, we have the Junior Senior Prom
Finally, don't forget, our final Report Card Conferences will be held on April 17-18 in the afternoon. Details below.

Cannabis, It's Complicated Especially for Kids
Free Virtual Parent Workshop
April 20th from 7:00-8:00pm
What was once a relatively simple plant, cannabis has inspired everything from fear to fierce loyalty. We’ll have a conversation about the science of today’s cannabis and its impact on young people’s developing brains. We need to learn all we can about this evolving substance, which bears little resemblance to a plant. This online program will address the effects of increased THC levels, social norms, availability, and the impact on a young, developing brain.

Parent/Guardian Required Physical Reminder
Community Academy Of Philadelphia
PARENTAL REMINDER OF REQUIRED PHYSICAL EXAMINATIONS
Pennsylvania Public School Code, Section 14-1402(e), requires physical examinations for students in kindergarten, sixth and eleventh grades.
If you have already turned in a private physical examination to the school nurse please disregard this reminder. Since your own private physician is familiar with your child's medical history, we encourage you to have the physical examination done by your family doctor. Attached to this notice is a Report of Physical Examination, this should be completed by your child's physician and then returned to your child's school. If your child has had a health examination in the 6 months prior to the start of the current school year, a doctor's report from that exam may be used. If not, this notification is intended to give you time to arrange for an examination.
If you have any questions or concerns related to this, please email schoolnurse@communityacademy.org or call 215-533-6700 ext. 1136
