Alpha Delta Kappa
BETA XI <<<<<.......................>>>>> August 2015
Welcome Back with Gusto! Let's Jump Right into Membership!
In our newest August 2015 Kappan, Marie Hurst, Southeast Region Membership Consultant, ends her Membership Message with this #10 Tip: "Be yourself! Don't forget why you were invited to join Alpha Delta Kappa. YOU are the BEST OF THE BEST. When you wear your badge, wear it with pride and remember that it is a privilege to be an Alpha Delta Kappa member. There are many outstanding educators in our educational systems who would be honored to be recognized and invited by their mentors and colleagues to become an Alpha Delta Kappa member." It's not too late to invite a teacher to visit our August meeting. Don't forget our county schools.

Alpha Delta Kappa Month -- Observed the entire month of October
Point 1 -- We are having a joint meeting with Auburn for Founders' Day. They meet the first Tuesday of the month usually. At this point, they have not decided on a meeting date, place, or time. In case they ask us to meet on the first Tuesday, try to keep that evening open.
Point 2 -- For Teacher Appreciation we again want to give each teacher in the Opelika system a bottle of water with a packet of instant TEA attached. When you are buying the ingredients for your dessert or salad, you may want to buy 30 packets of tea to take to the August meeting.
Point 3 -- You will need to buy a case of 34 bottles of water to take in September to a home to be named later. Bottles should be 16 oz. each. Try to buy bottles with a cardboard base to make them easier for us to transport after we've torn off the outside plastic cover to label each bottle.
