Walker Dismissal
Check out our procedure here: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1MZiZeTpa1YGLyg3zqsfct78zkQLrglT2WGlwYfSzx2I/edit?usp=sharing
We discourage Stewart Family members from parking at the Tosi’s parking lot to be “walkers”.
· All walkers are dismissed at 3:45 PM. Car dismissal begins at 3:35 PM. Car dismissal will always be finished before 3:45 PM. (With the exception of the first few days of school.)
· The walking path is unsupervised past the Stewart property line.
· The walking path should always be discouraged for young students.
Will your child be a walker/bike rider AT LEAST once a week?
· You must fill out the walker/bicycle permission form attached to this sheet and turn it in to the front office.
· Your form will be reviewed by administration and your child will be assigned a number and given the appropriate tags.
· Please note: For safety, your child cannot leave the building without a red or blue tag attached to their backpack.
Where are walkers picked up?
Walkers are only picked up at Door 6 (the back of the building). Walkers will not be dismissed from any other door.
What are the RED and BLUE Tags?
· Blue Tag walkers are released at the end of the day and are allowed to leave the building WITHOUT a parent waiting for them. These students are older, mature students who are ready to walk/bicycle home independently.
o THIS INCLUDES THOSE STUDENTS WALKING TO THE TOSI’S PARKING LOT. (Remember: We discourage families from parking at the Tosi’s parking lot to be “walkers”. )
· Red Tag walkers stay in the school at the end of the day and CANNOT leave the building without a parent to pick them up at the front door. These students are generally younger and need adult supervision for their walk/bicycle ride home.
o By choosing to be a red tag walker, you agree to meet your child at Door #6 at promptly 3:45 PM each day (12:00 PM on half days).
How does after-school pick-up work for RED TAG walkers?
· Pick-up happens ONLY at Door 6 (at the back of the school).
· Please form a line on the right side of the walkway. You will pick up your child in the order that you arrive in the line.
· Your child will have a red tag with a unique number on it. You will show your matching numbered tag to our staff. You MUST present your matching tag to pick up your child. This is the FASTEST way for your child to leave the campus.
