Literacy Closet

Please be mindful of the following "business" rules when getting/returning books from/to the literacy closet.
  1. All books should be returned to the correct basket.
  2. Students should not return books to the literacy closet.
  3. Please try to find the original bag/basket before putting books in the "lost" book basket. It is really full.

Teacher Surveys for State Department Due April 3 (This is a date change)

The word is out...

The word is out. Ebinport Elementary School is excellent! This is evident by the number of awards and grants many have achieved this year, but the best evidence is the achievement levels our students are obtaining. Parents are lining up at the door trying to find any and every way to enroll their children. None of this would be possible without all of your hard work and dedication. A lot has been asked of you this year, and you have risen to the occasion each and every time. Knowing all this, parents of current students, community members, district office personnel, and parents interested in enrolling their children at Ebinport are making increased visits to our phenomenal school. In an effort to allow the office staff perform their jobs at the highest level, we need your help as the demand for their attention is increasing daily. Our office is the hub and life blood within the school. Mailboxes, copy/fax machines, and staff offices are all located in this central location. The best way to accomplish this is to maintain a professional atmosphere at all times when you are in the office. This can be done by keeping the noise level to a minimum, holding discussions about students in the classroom (parents hear more than we think), eating lunch in the staff lounge or your work area, and protecting the confidentiality of our students. We want the first thing any person who enters our building to see is a professional office area with staff focused on assisting them and/or their children. Thank you for your understanding and assistance with this matter.

Breakfast on Late Start

A bagged breakfast will be served for students who need it on late start days beginning April 22. We are excited to offer this to students.

iPads Purchased through Grants

We are so excited about all of the grants awarded this week to Ebinport! We received almost $8000! Congratulations!

If you have received a grant or have any iPads or other technology purchased on behalf of Ebinport it should be set up with the proper restrictions prior to it being used in the classroom. Thank you in advance for your cooperation!

Breakfast after 7:30 AM

Good morning. Students arriving at school at or after 7:30 and then going to breakfast has created an issue with students being marked tardy even though they are in the building. Students who arrive at or after 7:30, but before 7:45 who want to eat breakfast will get a bag breakfast from the cafeteria and then report to your room to eat. This will avoid them being marked tardy and their parents receiving the district generated phone call. This process has been in place, but communication on my part has been inconsistent with the cafeteria staff, office staff, and teachers. I apologize, but we have corrected the issue and anticipate a smoother start to the day.

FYI: Teacher Supply Money Next Year

Teacher supply money: We will be issuing credit cards next year instead of checks. We will not be able to reimburse teachers for expenditures over the summer. They will have to use the credit card. You will be expected to keep receipts and an itemized list of items purchased must be turned in to the district office.
