Early Check-Outs

Reminder that if students are checking out early for any reason, a note must be brought to the front office in the morning. We will stamp the note and this is the pass allowing them to be in the front office when parents arrive. Your cooperation is appreciated with this process, so we are not interrupting instructional time.

No student check outs after 3:30 p.m. without a note.

Final Exams - Important Information

Students will take final exams for all of their classes December 17th - 20th. Please visit our home page for the schedule at www.ammslions.org. Please be aware of the following information regarding final exams:

  • Final exams will be cumulative for 7th & 8th grade. For the high school classes, the final exam is 20% of the semester average.

  • Final exams cannot be retaken if failed.

  • If a student is not present for the week of exams, he/she will receive a zero on the final exam until it is made up.

  • No student will be able to take an exam before December 17th.

  • Students should report to the front office to take missed exams on Friday, January 3rd (during the teacher workday) at 9:00 a.m.

  • For students who will be present the week of exams, but who cannot be present for a particular exam, please contact the teacher to make other arrangements.

The Scoop on Attendance!

Absence notes are to be turned in to the front office within 5 days of the absence, per Fulton County policy. All notes should have the student’s first and last name, grade, date(s) and reason for the absence.

If you receive an attendance notification regarding your student, please go to the Parent Portal on Infinite Campus to see which period(s) the student missed. If you have a question, please contact the teacher(s) for more information. If a correction to the attendance record is required, the teacher will notify the appropriate staff member. If the notification is regarding a full day of absence, please send a note to the front office within 5 days as described above.

Approved absences for travel opportunities or important family events must be pre-arranged PRIOR to the date(s) of the absence. Please contact the appropriate grade level Assistant Principal via email, requesting approval for the days your student will miss. These types of absences are limited to 6 days per school year and will not be approved “after the fact”.

November Student of the Month

AMMS is happy to announce our November Students of the Month. These students were nominated by our social studies teachers for demonstrating the "Attitude of Gratitude" Mindset.

These students were invited to a celebration on December 12th in the Media Center during their lunch.

Jr. Gladiator Basketball Results!

The Autrey Mill Jr. Gladiators basketball teams faced off against rivals Alpharetta and Chattahoochee this past weekend.

On Saturday morning, the 6th and 7th grade girls' teams lost tight heart breakers against Alpharetta. However, both teams bounced back strong on Sunday afternoon crushing the Chattahoochee 6th grade team 42-13 and the 7th grade team 35-9.

The boys also had a rough outing against Alpharetta with both the 7th grade and 8th grade teams falling early. The 7th grade game was another tight contest with the boys coming up 1 point short. However, the Jr. Gladiators finished strong as the 6th grade boys pulled out a win to close the day. Sunday was a similar story as 7th grade again lost in a knuckle biter in the final seconds. The 6th grade team, though, lit up the court in the final match of the weekend, trouncing Chattahoochee 67-17.

The Junior Gladiator basketball teams travel down to Pickens County this coming weekend for a cross-region game.
