CVE Parent Campus Connection Update
8/17-8/21/20
A note from Mrs. Jungmichel
Dear Tiger Families,
WOW! Just like that, we are THREE days into the 2020-2021 school year. While we must admit it was much different than we ever expected, we have LOVED having the opportunity to WELCOME our Tigers (regardless of the the virtual circumstances). It has only reinforced that our teachers can do "VIRTUALLY" anything and everything!
As I shared in my last CVE campus connection update, our number one commitment despite starting the 20-21 school year under the current circumstances is to to continue supporting and serving you and our Tiger students.
We recognize these first three days have been challenging for some on many levels. Getting connected to online learning, learning the difference of last spring to this fall, SCUC @ Home vs. SCUC on Campus, and Asynchronous vs. Synchronous online learning, have all been noted as areas of struggles. Not to mention, the many other situations you may be juggling as parents and employees.
While we recognize challenges, we continue to strive for improvement, and refuse to let challenges over shadow our CELEBRATIONS!
CELEBRATIONS...
We have approximately 850 Tigers registered!
Thank you for your patience as we continue to work overtime to get all our students registered and connected to their teacher(s).
A HUGE SHOUT OUT to the following four ladies that gave up their precious summer time to come back to work early. They have worked around the clock to lead CVE to nearly doubling our Tiger enrollment in just a few short weeks.
Attendance clerk- Ms. Portela
Receptionist- Mrs. Curtis
Computer lab manager- Mrs. Yowell
Counselor - Mrs. Salinas
Most of our Tigers are connected through Google Classroom!
Most of our Tigers are connecting in their daily zooms….with excitement!
Many of you have reached out and expressed appreciation! We appreciate your kind words and support more than you know!
Please know, we are in this together. Our Tiger family staff is committed to persevere through these uncharted waters. Though hard work, new learning, patience, and grit we will continue to iron out the kinks and establish a routine that fosters success for all stakeholders.
More than anything, please know this:
We are here to support you and your Tiger(s) anyway we can. We share your struggles, and extend understanding and grace above all.
The focus of this campus connection will be making sure you are aware, and have access to some valuable information that will no doubt support you as we continue to move through the ever changing uncertainties of this pandemic. The truth is, social media, other venues, and a lack of understanding are leading to a lot of misconceptions. Please take a moment to watch the instructional overview as well as read through the parent guide. Particularly, the SCUC @ Home Instructional Plan, as well as the Parent FAQ.
We continue to be grateful for your patience and grace as our District works under the latest guidance provided by the Texas Education Agency, Governor Abbott, and local authorities to find the most appropriate way to educate students while also prioritizing the needs of SCUC students, SCUC staff, and the SCUC community.
Stay strong, stay safe, and stay connected,
Rhonda Jungmichel
