Vitamin C is important because it helps the growth and repair of tissues in all of your body parts. Also it helps your body make collagen which is an important protein used to make skin, tendons, cartilage, ligaments and blood vessels. It helps heal wounds and repairs and maintains teeth and bones.

What would happen if you didn't have Vitamin C?
People who get little or no Vitamin C can get scurvy. Scurvy causes fatigue, swelling in the gums, red or purple dots on the skin, joint pain, poor wound healing and corkscrew hairs.
