Background Information

George Eastman was born on July 12,1854 in New York. He had an older sister named Kadie and a mother named Maria and a father named George Washington Eastman. When he was a teenager, George dropped out of high school to take a job as a office boy at a police station. When he was at age 77, he committed suicide by shooting himself with a gun in march 14,1932

Important Inventions and Other Accomplishments

George invented the brownie camera, a mobile brown camera. The brownie camera made picture taking easier. George did not work alone. He hired William Hall in 1884. He made the improvement to use dry plates for cameras instead of wet plates. Later on he made the eastmen walker roll holder. It is used for holding the rolls of video tape for movies to be made
