OAK CREST FAMILY TIGER TOPICS
December 3, 2021
December is Here!
This month is going to fly by. Kids and adults are full of energy and excitement, but also stress and responsibility. At Oak Crest, we will try to use the energy for learning and have some fun along the way. Please know that learning does not stop in December. Each school day is valuable, and sometimes we will use special projects or themes to make learning fit the season, but kids will need to continue to work hard and Be RED.
With learning and school work the focus, if students are not keeping up with their responsibilities, there are times when they may miss a fun class event or motor break to focus on missing work. Please help your child stay organized and focused on school by checking planners and homework daily and talking about their schoolwork daily.
Enjoy the season, winter break will be here before you know it!

Tiger Target for Dec 6-10: I can allow others to make mistakes.
Earlier this year, we had a Tiger Target : I can learn from my mistakes. We all understand that we need to make mistakes and take risks to learn. This week, we are going to give the gift to others that making mistakes is ok. And most importantly, if you do make a mistake, I will not judge you or correct you. I will offer help if needed. To meet this tiger target, you need a lot of self control.
So when you hear or see other make mistakes this week, remember that is ok! Remember it is not your job to correct them, or prove them wrong. If in your heart you want to help, do so in a kind way that does not make them feel judged or embarrassed, this takes a Second Step skill called Empathy.
Let's work really hard this week to allow others to make mistakes and learn from them.
