The Week Ahead
Happy Mother's Day to all of you moms. I hope you had a wonderful day.
This will be our last normal week of the year. AP tests are still going on this week and with a little luck will be done this week. This is also the last week we will have intercession time and block schedules. We will have 8-period days the rest of the way starting with the week of May 20.
The seniors should have everything done by the end of the day next Tuesday, May 21. Wednesday is the awards assembly and they do not attend classes on that day. It is okay to have a senior come in through Friday if they have work they need to get done. For graduation purposes, all senior grades must be final before you leave on Friday, May 24.
Semester exams are May 30-31 and June 3. The exam schedule is attached below. Please remember that students should be taking exams or involved in an educational activity. Grades for 7th-11th graders will be due by 8:00 am on June 4.
We will at 2:00 on Thursday, May 30. The time will be spent finalizing things before break.
Have a great week!

Morning Prayer This Week
Prayer will not be read over the intercom if an AP exam is scheduled for that morning.
5/13 Source of all life,
I feel so secure, knowing that my shepherd knows me as an individual,
and that I rest safely in the father's hand.
Help me to remain faithful with your grace.
Give me a firmness of heart, so different from my hardness of heart.
Soften my judgementalism, and help me to show greater care for all those in my life
especially those most in need of me today.
May the joy of my redemption spill over into my life
so I may be truly called "Christian" -- a follower of yours.
May the Lord bless us, protect us from all evil and bring us to everlasting life. Amen.
5/14 God of Light,
I pray to do more than simply follow your light.
I want to stay in that light toward which you draw me.
May I shine your loving grace on those in the darkness.
The disciples believed in you and laid their hands as they sent each other off
to spread the work of your gospel to the world.
Thank you for calling me into your light and truth.
Fill me with mercy for those on the margins
that my life, and theirs, may be one of joy and praise.
May the Lord bless us, protect us from all evil and bring us to everlasting life. Amen.
5/15 Risen Jesus,
My heart sings of your goodness and I am in awe of how you have graced all of our lives
with greater dignity and the wonder of rebirth.
You have given me an example with your life
and mission me to receive those you place into my day
with dignity, service and love.
In my Easter joy, I find the courage to say Yes.
Help me to receive the ones you send to me so that I might receive you.
May the Lord bless us, protect us from all evil and bring us to everlasting life. Amen.
5/16 Loving Jesus,
you ask me to trust in you.
You tell me you have a place for me.
But, sometimes, like Thomas, I don't know how to get to that place,
and fear enters my heart.
Then I hear your warm voice telling me not to let my heart be troubled or afraid.
Give me the wisdom to trust in you.
Help me to open my eyes to my brothers and sisters,
so when I return to the place you are preparing, there will be room for us all.
May the Lord bless us, protect us from all evil and bring us to everlasting life. Amen.
5/17 Loving God,
I am drawn closer to you this day,
knowing that I am loved by the Father and Jesus;
and from their love for me, they send the Spirit.
Grant me the grace and the patience to quiet my life and open my heart
so I can recognize the Spirit who advocates for me
and teaches me the message given by Jesus.
Help me to know that I don't have to wait for you:
you have already come to me and make your dwelling in me.
All I have to do is become aware of your presence in my life.
May the Lord bless us, protect us from all evil and bring us to everlasting life. Amen.
