Prestwood Connection

September 16, 2022

Hello Prestwood Families,

I hope you are enjoying the cooler weather before the rain arrives this weekend. It is finally feeling like Fall!

Ahoy Panthers! "Talk like a Pirate Day" is a Prestwood tradition that will happen on Monday. Your student is invited to dress up like a pirate (if they want) and they might even have a special activity in their classroom to celebrate this day. If your student chooses to dress up, please leave the pirate weapon accessories at home.

Thursday is Picture Day for all Prestwood students. Please see the information below about how you can order school pictures.

Have a wonderful weekend,

Laura Thomas

SVUSD Facilities Master Plan - Parent Participation

To develop a deeper understanding of how our school campuses can better support our students, staff, and community, Sonoma Valley Unified School District has started the process to develop a long-range Facilities Master Plan. The team that has been hired to develop the plan will be hosting a series of community meetings and the meetings will be grouped by feeder pattern. Our school community will have a meeting with the planning team at Adele Harrison Middle School at 5:30pm on Monday, September 26 to share your thoughts. This will be a great opportunity to learn more about the plan and provide input on the guiding principles that will help shape the development of the plan. Please see the flyer below with the meeting information.

If you are not able to make this meeting, this will not be the only chance to engage with the team. Additionally, we encourage all families to fill out this brief anonymous survey SVUSD Project Kick-Off Survey. This information goes directly to the planning team and will be used to better understand the district and your priorities.

Thank you and we look forward to hearing directly from you.

COVID Antigen Testing - Sign Up Link

The Sonoma Valley Unified School District will offer the K-12 School Antigen Testing Program for district students and staff. Participation in this program requires registration with the COLOR system in order to be tested. Unlike at-home testing, the school antigen testing is performed on test cards on school grounds and results are available in 15 minutes. Select district staff at every campus will be able to administer the school antigen testing and families are required to register their child to be tested. If you have a child at more than one school, you will need to register them through the unique link for each of the schools.
