What's Happening in Room 201
ATLAS (Advanced ELA Grades 7&8)
We will go over Greek/Latin roots list 1.
We are going to read another Ray Bradbury story, "There Will Come Soft Rains," and do some multiple choice and open response questions.
We will also practice what we know about narrative writing as we complete an On Demand narrative prompt.
Future City
We had some amazing guest speakers from FPB last week. Thanks to David Denton and Travis McCullar for helping us gain a better understanding of how our city is powered!
Our groups are formed and we are planning our cities. We've had some great guest speakers come help us understand more about electricity, disasters, and city planning.

More Services
Primary Talent Pool and 4th Grade- We will not get to meet this Wednesday because of early release. Fourth graders have started Chasing Vermeer and should read to page 49 before we meet again next week!
Parent Input Needed
Parent Input Form- PLEASE complete this as soon as possible for any Primary Talent Pool or GT kid in your home!
KYA is happening soon!
We have started to organize for Kentucky Youth Assembly. Bill sponsor teams are forming and other roles are being filled. If you are a 7th or 8th grader (sorry- 6th graders can come to KUNA!) who DID NOT attend KYA or KUNA last year, I need to submit your name and a working email address to the Y so you can begin to register. Please get that to me as soon as you can! If you did attend last year, you should get an update email from Starla at the Y.
Also, financial aid applications need to be submitted online by Thursday, September 27. The link is http://www.kyymca.org/financial-aid/.
The total for KYA is $260. The fees are due by September 28. Financial aid may cover a portion of the fees, but you will likely have to pay at least half. Fundraiser information will come home later this week.
