New Faces Around Halfway

We have had a great start to the new school year. It is always exciting to see students returning to school and ready for another year full of learning.

This year, we welcomed a few new staff members along with previous staff members serving a different role.

Mrs. Rhonda Agee is taking on the part-time role of RootEd College and Career Advisor. She will still be teaching a few business classes, but she will also be working with students on post-high school plans. She will be meeting with seniors regularly in order to help them with future plans and goals. She will also work with scheduling for students and ICAPs for eight graders.

Mr. Tanner White is taking on the role of K-12 PE, Junior High boys and girls basketball, and high school boys basketball. Tanner is from New Franklin, MO and went to high school there. He went to college at Missouri Valley in Marshall, MO. He is coming to us from Linn County R-I in Purdin, MO where he taught K-12 PE and was also baseball and basketball coach. Tanner likes to fish and be outdoors and spend time with family. He says he is looking forward to meeting new people and building relationships with the staff and students in the school.

Mrs. Jennifer Walters will be serving as breakfast/lunch clerk as well as high school resource aid. She has a background as a police officer as well as cosmetologist. She has four kids at Halfway ranging in grades 2 through senior. Jen will be spending most of her time assisting Mr. Chabrecek in the high school resource classroom.

Mrs. Rebecca Bauer will be transitioning from Title 1 Aid to full-time title 1 teacher. She will be specializing in reading/literacy as her background is literacy. She previously taught at Marion C. Early at the junior high level. Last year, she was part time computer lab teacher for elementary as well as part time title 1 aid. She has one daughter who will be starting kindergarten this year.

Mr. Brian Fisher is transitioning from the classroom to administration. He will be serving as the K-12 Assistant Principal as well as Athletic Director. He is also the new A+ coordinator. Mr. Fisher previously taught history in high school.

Mr. Dallas Stockdale is taking over Jerry’s bus route! He subbed for us quite a bit last year but we are so excited to welcome him full time. Dallas enjoys beekeeping and music. He has two kiddos that will be in 6th and 9th grades. I know the students will be excited to see Dallas full time!

Mrs. Amber Cline was hired for the Social Studies/Softball Coach/Girls Varsity Basketball Coach. Amber has been in the insurance sales business for the last 17 years. She also runs a competitive softball program in Bolivar and has coached softball for many years. Her mom graduated from Halfway, and she is excited to be joining the community again. She said, "Those who know me know my love of kids and softball. This career change is a dream come true and I am so very excited for this next chapter for me and my family."

Mrs. Alicia Asher has also been hired as the new counselor. She completed her student teaching here a few years ago with Mr. Voris. She lives in Bolivar and graduated from Skyline Schools. She is currently finishing her master's degree in counseling at MSU.She said, "I am really looking forward to meeting all of the students and staff as well as the 4 day week and a shorter commute!"
