KRS Library

September

Welcome back to the library!

We've spent the first couple of weeks of school getting our returning students reacquainted with the library and introducing it to our new friends.

International Dot Day

We celebrated International Dot Day honoring the themes of the book The Dot by Peter H. Reynolds. This book reminds us all to "make a mark and see where it takes you." So let's make our mark KRS, and make it count!

Here are some of our second graders celebrating by making a dot and using an augmented reality app to bring their dot to life.

Watch out! We had a library breakout!

Our 4th graders used their library skills to complete challenges that allowed them to open one lock at a time on our Breakout EDU boxes. They reviewed locating fiction and nonfiction titles by navigating our online catalog and explored our makerspace.

Welcome to our makerspace!

Students can sign up to come to makerspace during their recess for one cycle at a time. Students can print a design on our 3D printer, code with our Ozobots, build with our legos and blocks, weave on one of our looms, and more! We have a wide range of materials to cater to the maker in all of us!

Library Information

All students attend library/technology class once in a six-day cycle. They have book exchange on a separate day. Kindergarteners and first graders can borrow one book during book exchange and second through fourth graders can borrow two books. Please see the schedule below for your child's book exchange day.
