No School Tomorrow - April 18
From the Principal
Mott Owl Families,
I am looking forward to the upcoming Spring Fling! According to the number of families pre-ordering pizza, it is going to be a great turnout! Some things to know in advance:
- PTO is still looking for volunteers in order to have more activities. If you are waiting to see where there is a need before signing up, don't wait! Sign up now so that the PTO Board has a clear plan for the volunteers.
- If you might buy Kona Ice or items from the concession stand, please stop buy the ATM this week and get some cash. Credit cards are an option, but cash is a much faster transaction when there are people waiting in line.
- Plan on mingling and meeting some other families. Especially the families of your child's classmates and friends. Even if you don't live in the same neighborhood, you live very close to each other. Now is the time to exchange information and plan some play dates for the summer.
- The areas used for the Spring Fling are the cafeteria, the gym, and the covered basketball court and surrounding areas on the south side of the building. There are restrooms located in the main hallway outside of the cafeteria.
- Even though we will be on the basketball court, please do not bring balls. We expect a large crowd and flying basketballs would not be safe.
- While we realize that many parents might want to tour the entire building, we will have most areas blocked off. This is because our evening custodial crew cleans the building from 3:00 to 10:00 p.m. so that it will be ready for students on Monday. We need to stay out of their way so that they can do their job.
Stay safe and well,
Tammy Rebecek
In order to have a successful Spring Fling we need your help. Please consider signing up to volunteer.

Principal's Reading Challenge
Has your child told you about the Principal's Reading Challenge? We have been talking about it on the announcements every morning. I talked to them about making sure they had a plan for reading over the long weekend. There were over 500 checkouts from the library on Friday! I think they took me seriously! 😊
Thank you Maria!
Lunch
A few reminders if you come to eat lunch with your child.
- If you have never signed into Mott for lunch or to volunteer we will need to scan your Drivers License.
- Try and get here five to ten minutes before your students scheduled lunch time. That gives you enough time to sign in, walk down to the cafeteria and find a seat.
- You are only allowed to eat with your child (No friends, cousins, neighbors)
- We cannot pull students out of class to eat at the same time as their siblings. We do not want students to miss important instructional minutes. Please wait until your other student's lunch time to enjoy eating with them as well.
We have noticed an increase in the number of students coming in after the 7:35 bell rings.
A traffic tip: If you are dropping your child off, try to get to the school by 7:20 a.m. at the latest. That will give you plenty of time.
Drop Off Zipper Rules for Morning Drop Off
You are welcome to use both lanes in the morning drop off line, just like in the afternoon. When both lanes are being utilized please remember that when the lanes merge that it is like a zipper. One car at a time from each lane alternating turns.

2022-2023 School Enrollment
Enrollment for students new to Mott for the 2022-2023 school year has begun. All of the information needed, including the forms that must be completed can be found at this link: https://www.pfisd.net/domain/232 Existing Pre-K students will need to re-enroll for kindergarten and provide one proof of residency and an undated shot record. If your child is a current K-5 student at Mott, you do not need to re-enroll.
Enrolling new students before the end of the school year is very important, because we base staffing numbers on enrollment numbers. If we need more teachers, we would want to know that now instead of knowing that in August. Please pass this information along to all your new neighbors!
Please contact our registrar, Mr. Ray, for any enrollment questions. steven.ray@pfisd.net or 512-594-4738
