This Week's Bell Schedule - Note Earlier Dismissal for Zero Period!

We want to allow our students taking zero period some time to eat breafast from the cafeteria. We are ending class by 8:00 AM and giving students 15 minutes to grab some breakfast and make their way to period 1. Additionally, students will report to their new Pod teacher this week for homeroom. You can find the teacher by checking the student's schedule in Aeries.

ID Cards & Yearbook Photos (MAKE-UP Day)

Did you not get your ID photo taken? If so, another chance is happening this week!
  • Make-up photos will be Wednesday, September 1st, during PE classes in room 305.
  • Come picture ready!
  • Have your student inform their PE teacher that they need to take their make-up photo during their PE class.

Reminders (Water Bottles & Cellphones)

Water Bottles
  • The individual water spouts are closed for health and safety reasons. The students have access to water refill stations throughout campus to fill up their reusable water bottles.
  • Please remind students to bring their reusable water bottles. Students can request one from the school, if needed.

  • Student cellphone use is only permitted before and after school. If students need to contact parents/guardian during school they should use the phone in the main office.

It's That time again!

Culver City Middle School is seeking parent nominees for the 2021-2022 School Site Council (SSC). The Council consists of five parents and five faculty members who meet regularly to update the Single Plan for Student Achievement (SPSA) and to review and monitor curriculum implementation. Here is an opportunity to share your curriculum ideas, to learn, and to work closely with the faculty.

The School Site Council office position is a two-year term (a parent of an eighth

grader is an exception). SSC meetings are scheduled monthly in the early evening.

If you would like to be considered for nomination or would like to nominate another parent, please complete the NOMINATION FORM by September 3.

CCMS Sports Update

Planning for CCMS fall sports is underway. Due to new COVID testing requirements from the LACDH, CCMS sports will be on hold until at least the end of September to allow CCHS to get their sports programs off the ground.

Fall sports at CCMS are: girls volleyball, cross-country (coed), water polo (coed), flag football, girls tennis, and cheerleading. At this time, there have been no meetings for cheerleading signups. We are working out a plan with the cheer coaches and should have an update within the next week.

If your child missed one of the signup meetings last week, please email the CCMS Athletic Director, Mr. Angelo Sablan, for additional information. You can also send him any questions you may have about obtaining athletic clearance, practice times, costs, etc. He may be reached at

Furthermore, at this time, we are looking for ways to include as many students as possible in 7th and 8th grade. 6th grade sports will remain no cut. We are currently unable to offer no-cut teams at other grade levels due to sharing coaches and facilities with the high school and community groups with permits. We understand that this is disappointing for those 7th graders who were uable to participate in no-cut 6th grade sports, but as stated, we are looking for possible ways to include more students if we can--we just cannot guarantee no cut at this time. We thank you for your patience and understanding--of course we don't want to leave anyone out, but some of these issues are beyond our control. We're doing our best to see if we can create more options.

PE Clothes Sales Update

For the time being, we are pausing the sales of PE clothes before and after school. Due to the shortage of elastic and ink, our supplier has not been able to fulfill our PE clothes order. As soon as new clothes come in, we will announce via the Paw Print.

Sales will resume as soon as we get the shipment in so we can offer all sizes of items to all students. We will also resume accepting vouchers once the clothes are in stock!

Please be assured that the students will not be required to dress for PE until they have had the opportunity to pick up PE uniforms.

The CCMS Student Store is Re-Opening!

Beginning Monday, 8/23, the student store will be open after school for students to purchase snacks and drinks (and PE clothes, once we resume sales). The student store is one of the PTSA's biggest volunteer opportunities! In order to open the store each day, we must have two parents willing to help out - don't worry we will train you!

Culver City Backpacks Program

Culver City Unified School District (CCUSD) believes that no child in our community should go hungry or have food insecurities, especially on weekends when students don’t have access to school-sponsored breakfast and lunch. The Culver City Council PTA, in conjunction with CCUSD, provides students in need with a backpack filled with non-perishable food and snacks each week to ensure that every child can eat on the weekends.

There is no cost to participate and enrollment is 100% confidential. Each week, filled backpacks will be available in the school’s main office. You or your child, simply pick up the backpack and take it home. Backpacks will not be returned each week; your student will receive a new backpack each week. Enrollment is ongoing so any child in need can sign up for the program at any time throughout the school year.

Information Regarding CCMS Sports for All 6th, 7th, & 8th Graders

To find out more about CCMS FALL Sports, please attend a FALL SPORTS Parent Meeting, on Tuesday, September 14, 2021, at 6:30 PM, in the CCMS Multipurpose Room (MPR).

Below are the dates and times for all approaching CCMS FALL SPORTS tryouts, as well as practice schedules and games where possible. Further information will be shared as it becomes available to us.

WHEN: Tuesday, August 31, 2:30--4:00 PM. *****Please attend BOTH dates.


**The practice schedule for the season start on Tuesday, September 7, and will continue on Tuesdays and Wednesdays from 2:30--4:00 PM.

JV will practice in the CCMS Back Gym.

Varsity will practice in the CCMS Front Gym.

  1. Students must have a physical before they can participate in any school sports including practices and games. No student will be able to participate without the approval of a physician. NO EXCEPTIONS. If you are unable to obtain a physical from your physician call the Health Center to schedule an appointment at (310) 392-8636.
  2. Obtain written permission from a parent/guardian to compete.
  3. Maintain a 2.0 GPA (cannot have 2 or more N's and no more than 1U) or you will be ineligible to participate in the program.
  4. A student may be declared ineligible for disciplinary reasons by administrative action.
  5. All Students must complete an Athletic Clearance Packet before trying out or competing for any sport.

This past year has been full of difficulties, inlcuding challenges to our CCMS sports program. Due to not be able to offer sports last year, we are severly lacking in enough funds to grow our programs. Now, more than ever, it's important that we collect as many donations as we can to keep our program afloat (especially to offer "no cut" teams).

We request a $100 donation per athlete per sport so that we may provide quality coaches, uniforms,equipment, league fees, certificates to each player at the end of the season, and so that we can continue to offer a wide and deep athletic program. If you are unable to contribute the full amount please donate an amount that is affordable. You may also choose not to donate by clicking on the appropriate button on the registration website (lnk below).

Cafeteria Information

During the 2021-22 school year, ALL students will receive free meals from the cafeteria.

  • Students need only to show their student ID for scanning.
  • Pins will no longer be used.
  • If students wish to purchase additional snack not included in the regular school meal, they may do so out of the funds in their student meal account.
