Dive in to Computer Programming
A workshop for K-8 educators.
Learn by experience and exploration in this workshop!
Computer programming and coding continue to shape our future world from the software we use on our computers to the program developed for medical technology. However, the supply of graduates with understanding or knowledge of these skills is not keeping up with the job market. Exposure to computer science skills at an early not only help to prepare students for possible future employment, but also to build problem solving and critical thinking skills across a variety of content areas.
This hands-on workshop will give K-8 educators the opportunity to learn more about computer programming and coding through experience and exploration. Teachers will have the chance to try a variety of basic programming applications, explore the skills that are needed in this field, and discuss ways that these resources can connect to their classroom.
