Falcon Flyer
Week of 3-18-18
Rise Above
As we look towards the end of the year (can you believe that the fourth nine weeks is already in sight?), we are going to begin moving towards asking our school family to Rise Above. As part of this, we will be releasing some photos that will showcase the start of a new project for our school.
Twenty three students were chosen to help us with the launch of this project. Each of these students chose a two or three word message to remind each of us of how we can work towards Rising Above. We will start releasing these photo messages this week on Social Media.
It is my hope that we can continue to add to these photos and have them enlarged and framed throughout the building next year. Please see the photos below for a sneak peek! I must tell you, I am more than a little bit excited about this project as it showcases not only the positive messages, but the personalities of some of our amazing students! I hope you love it as much as I do.
Also, a GREAT BIG THANK YOU to Pam Gibson and Colin Rork for once again helping my crazy ideas come to fruition so quickly!
Meetings with Colin & Katrena
Please be reminded that these meetings will take place every other week. However, should you have any concern about a student, please address it with someone on the leadership team immediately. We certainly do not need to wait for the meeting.
I will continue to meet with each grade level on the opposite week.
PTO Fun Activity
Please use the link below to RSVP so that they know how many will be in attendance. Please respond by Friday, March 23rd as they will need some time to plan.
Attendance
Sixth grade won the first ice cream party, but seventh and eighth grade are on their heels for the March ice cream incentive. Do you know that one day last week we had only 3 8th grade students absent!! That's amazing. Please continue to build this up with your students.
Spring Break is Nearly Here!
Also, please be reminded that is extremely important for each of you to be at your duty spots on time each day. Continue to greet your students at the door each day, and assist with any monitoring possible. As you know, the closer we get to the break, the more we need to stay on top of student behavior, especially during transition time.
Thank you for all that you do to assist in this area.
Overheard...
From a parent; "We want to be as much of a blessing to your school as a family, as you guys have been to us!"
From a parent who had his student on school choice at another middle school this year: "We have heard about the great things happening at Liberty Middle and would like to bring our son to the school he is zoned for next year!"
From a doctor in the Wren area (to one of our teachers): "You work at Liberty Middle? I have heard some great things about that school this year!"
FOLKS - Your hard work is paying off and people are hearing about it!
