It's time for 5th graders to choose an instrument!
Parents of 5th grade students should be on the lookout for paperwork pertaining to their child's participation in the instrumental music program. Please return the top sheet of the packet and include your e-mail so that I can reach out and make sure we are ready to begin! Menchey Music services our school and provides the option to rent-to-own quality instruments. Edgemere Elementary also has instruments that we can lend for the year, but we'd ask that families have a 2nd and 3rd choice ready in case we have high demand for certain instruments.
Please do not hesitate to reach out to Mr. McGrath if you have any questions. His email is firstname.lastname@example.org.
Welcome to our school year! A year of successes and smiles awaits us! I look forward to sharing monthly lessons, with each and every class. In September, we will explore the roles of a school counselor, in addition to highlighting resiliency. In addition to facilitating classroom lessons, I meet with children both individually and within small group settings. Your expertise, is of great value to me, please reach out and share your insights.

Welcome back to another great year of reading and learning in the library!
Book checkout will begin soon for students in grades 1-5. Now is a great time to find a safe place for your child to keep their library book each week while they are enjoying it at home. Taking the time to talk about your child’s library book each week helps develop important reading skills including: summarizing, questioning, sequencing and comprehension.
If you would like to support the library by sending in tissues, they would happily be accepted and appreciated.
Hi! Many of you may already know me but I wanted to reintroduce myself. My name is Melissa Baldwin and although this is my first year in vocal music, this is my 19th year here at Edgemere Elementary. Music has always been the core of my heart. It was a childhood dream to be a music teacher when I grew up and I am so excited to share my love of music with your students. I will continue to direct our spring musical, to be announced soon, and am also teaching 4th grade content. On top of that, I also have a student at Edgemere, and happily serve on the PTA as their corresponding secretary.
In music this month, we will be learning the routines and procedures that go along with our classroom as well as getting to know one another through collaboration and learning by performing, moving, and singing.
Our annual concert dates will be announced soon. K, 1, & 2 will be performing at our winter concert in December and 3,4, & 5 will be performing in the spring concert in May. I will get that information out as soon as dates are set.
Please feel free to reach out with any questions, email@example.com Looking forward to a wonderful year!
