PLEASE JOIN US FOR OUR NEXT PTO MEETING!
School Spirit Wear Sale at the PTO Meeting on Wednesday, February 23rd
Bring the Wine to PTO!
In addition to your presence at this year’s second PTO meeting on Wednesday, February 23rd we are requesting that you bring with you a bottle of your favorite high end wine or perhaps excess wine that you have on hand.
This may bring up some questions which the following guide will hopefully address:
Will we be imbibing at the PTO meeting?
Sadly, no. But, the wine will be going toward the collection of wines being assembled for the Foundation Dinner Wine Raffle.
Wine Raffle?! I am excited! What is this raffle of which you speak?
In the days leading up to the Foundation Dinner and at the event itself (May 21 - South Point Casino - Plan Your Babysitter Now), only 100 raffle tickets will be available to win the entire collection of wine. The minimum value of the collection has averaged more than $5,000 the last six years. Your wine committee is hard at work to increase the value of this collection.
High end wine? Sounds fancy. What exactly do you mean?
As a guideline, we (highly) suggest bottles with a value of $20 at a minimum. We are trying to steer clear of a certain $2 brand that rhymes with nubuck luck. Red, white, bubbly - we don’t care - just as long as it’s good. You will also get an extra free dress day for your child (children) in addition to the free dress day for PTO meeting attendance.
What a great idea! Will there be other opportunities to donate?
We are so glad you asked. There will be as we get closer to the exciting event and they may involve wine for chocolate at drop off in the loop. But, please donate early and often so that we can make this year’s collection the best yet!
Foundation? What exactly does this do and what will the money raised go toward?
The Foundation funds much-needed capital improvement projects to our school. Foundation contributions to the school are nearing $2.5 million! Without the Foundation at work for the past 32 years, our school families would expend considerably more for tuition and special assessments. For a full run history of Foundation and the good that they do for St. Viator visit:

Thank you for your donation and commitment to our wonderful school and always remember the wine committee’s motto: “It isn’t good to keep things bottled up.”

This is also the time that you can help us purchase quality books for our school library.
A dedication placard will be placed inside each donated book recognizing your family’s generosity for years to come. Just so you know, the average cost of a new book is $20.00. This includes the hardcover library binding, bar coding, shelf labeling, individual computer records, and book protection covers.
Because of the generosity and participation of our school families over the past years, we have added thousands of quality books to the library shelves including many Accelerated Reader books.
The library is dependent upon the support of this program for all new books. Thank you in advance for your participation.

Diocesan Tuition Assistance
The Diocese of Las Vegas has for the past several years initiated second collections, in all of our parishes, for Elementary School tuition assistance. We invite all families to consider enrolling their children with St. Viator Parish School. If financial assistance is needed, you are invited to apply for the Diocesan Tuition Assistance (FACTS). After submitting your application for enrollment at St. Viator, you may submit your request to FACTS.
St. Viator is a strong Catholic community. We are fortunate to have a community willing to help make Catholic education affordable to our Catholic families. To apply for aid, please visit our FACTS site: St. Viator Parish School - FACTS
