Five Days a Week of In-Person Learning at SMS
5 Days a Week Schedule Begins Monday, April 12
We are so pleased to announce that our School Board voted unanimously to approve the next phase of school reopening for our in-person 7-12th grade students.
On April 12, all in-person students will transition to a full 5 days a week of in-person learning! We are looking forward to seeing so many students in person each day!
What DOES change starting April 12:
- In-person students in school five days a week
What does NOT change:
- In-person start and end time for school day
- 3-period day/quarter
- Lunch offered at middle schools
- Grab & Go breakfasts offered after school each day (to eat at home, before school)
- Family, student, and staff responsibilities to follow to COVID-19 precautions and protocols
Is there a new bell schedule?
Is there a new process for arrival or dismissal?
Arrival: To help with arrival, assure that your student is ready with their attestation ticket, mask, and backpack.
Dismissal: To assist with dismissal, we have added a NEW Zone 3: Cell Phone Waiting Area. Students who are meeting their parents in this new zone will be dismissed at 2:05, or when they receive your text...whichever is later.
Where do I find my student's bus route information?
Attendance Matters
We are looking forward to offering a more regular schedule for all of our in-person students during 4th quarter. If a student misses school, they will be marked absent, so please let us know if your student will be out for any reason. Contact our attendance line: 558-6207 or email Denise Burgess (dburgess@cvsd.org).
Will there still be hot lunch options?
- Students may bring a sack lunch, or they can opt for a free meal from the cafeteria. There will be one lunch option from the cafeteria each day.
- Please note that there is a break for lunch during 2nd period for 7th and 8th grade students.
Can my student get breakfasts?
We are so excited to have all of our students back five days a week!
