On the Go Week 6: God Is My Provider!
We're ending our "On the Go" series this week as we teach kids, "God is My Provider."
The concept of provision can be a difficult one. Culture tells us that if we want something done right, we should do it ourselves. Self-reliance is a theme that we can see almost everywhere we look, which wars with our dependance on God as our provider. It can propel us to hustle harder and depend on ourselves to find the strength to make our lives great.
Scripture tells us that strength comes from outside of ourselves; our strength comes from the Lord. In the wilderness, the Israelites couldn’t provide for themselves. He provided for them, raining down bread from heaven. And in the New Testament, God sent Jesus to us, who said, “I am the living bread that came down from heaven”. He is our provision for our earthly and spiritual needs. God sending Jesus on a rescue mission for us is His greatest provision of all!
