Edgewood Weekly Update- April 22

Connecting Families and School Through Communication!

Things to Note...

Register now for the 2015-2016 school year on Skyward Family Access!

We are encouraging all parents of returning students to complete the online registration forms in Skyward Family Access. Knowing how many of our students will be returning to each of our grade levels at Edgewood helps us greatly in planning for staff and resources. We have the potential to add class sections and it would be good to have student registration numbers solidified before the start of the next school year.

Returning student registration is as easy as 1-2-3!

  1. Complete the online registration process through Skyward Family Access. Click the link to begin.
  2. Pay registration fees. Fees can be paid when online registration process (step 1) is completed. Registration fees can be paid online via credit card, check or money order via mail or in person, or cash in person only. Fees also will be discounted 10% rounded to the nearest dollar if paid by June 10, 2015. Fee waiver and free and reduced lunch applications can be completed beginning July 1, 2015.
  3. Provide proof of residency. Returning student residency for the 2015-16 school year will be verified electronically as it was done last year. Parents and guardians of returning students will receive notice in July with the results of the residency verification and indicate next steps if any.

REMINDER: The registration process is not complete until all 3 steps have been completed.

Additional registration information can be found in the Parent Resources section of the district website. (Click on blue links.)

End of Year PARCC Assessments for Grade 3 through 6

During the first week of May our students will be taking the End of Year PARCC tests. In grades 3-5 the students will have two Math sessions and one English Language Arts test session. Our sixth graders will have two Math sessions and two English Language Arts sessions. Please remember that student attendance is important on all days, to avoid the scheduling of make-up sessions.

Happy Earth Day!

Many thanks to Ellen and Cheryl Toohey for helping to get our school grounds in shape for spring! The winter and snow hid a lot of garbage along our sidewalks and in the grass! They also found items that can be recycled. We so appreciate their Earth Day care and spirit today!
