Community Meeting: Code of Character, Conduct, and Support
This May all elementary schools met to go over our last Code Community Meeting and to celebrate our accomplishments this school year.
During the community meeting students were reminded that our Code is a commitment that all staff, students, and families are making to develop our character, take ownership of our behavior, and ensure that when we need help, we get it.
Students were taught that everyone makes mistakes including adults. We believe we can all learn from our mistakes and repair any harm that was caused. One way we do this is through having a restorative conversations.
During community meeting students were introduced to the 5 restorative questions we use district wide to help students take ownership of the behavior and make a plan to move forward.
Watch the videos below to learn more about restorative conversations.
After watching the video, click on the links to learn more about how the Code relates to our SEL curriculum and what you can do to support this work at home.
