Lenski Weekly Update
September 15th, 2023
From the Principal's Desk
Happy Friday! It’s hard to believe that we are already halfway through September! We had a blast kicking off our Lenski Fun Run Spirit Week with Lenski Day! Our awesome Fun Run Committee created a Google Website. Please click here to access it. We are looking forward to showing our spirit all next week and celebrating Friday with our annual Fun Run! As a reminder our schedule will be as follows:
8:30: Kindergarten and 1st Grade
9:30: 2nd Grade and 3rd Grade
10:30: 4th and 5th Grade
Parents and special guest are welcome to come and watch your Superstar run. We will be in the back of the building near the soccer fields.
Thank you to all our Pals on the Playground this week! WOW!! It has been such a joy and treat for us to have parents join in the fun during playground.
Have a wonderful weekend!
With Lenski Love,
Jessica
From the Office
Pokemon Cards: Pokemon cards are fun and kids love them! However, these cards have posed many challenges for us at school. Please tell your student to keep their Pokemon cards at home.
School Pictures: Picture day is Thursday, September 21st. Approximately two weeks after picture day, a proof will be sent home with your student that will include information on how to place an order online.
Student Fees: If you have not yet paid your student's school fees, you may pay online through your Infinite Campus parent portal account or you may send payment to the Lenski front office along with this form. Student fees were due on September 5th.
We wanted to clarify a few transportation policies.
If your student wants to take the bus home with a friend, please follow these steps:
Call Transportation to notify their office of the change. 303-347-4775
Send your student to school with a note. This will notify their teacher of the change. Then, they should ask to take this note to the office to be approved.
Please note that bus drivers err on the side of caution when dropping students off. The district policy is that students K-1 must be met by an adult at the bus stop. If parents are running late, the bus driver will have the students ride the remaining bus route while parents are contacted. Older siblings are allowed to accompany younger students off the bus if they appear to be confident and know where they are going.
This is a friendly reminder to try to get your students to school on time! We have a Soft Start to the day from 7:35-7:50. This allows students to arrive with enough time to get ready for the day. Teachers take attendance first thing and mark students tardy if they are not in the classroom at 7:50.
If you are running late, just let the office know! 303-347-4575

Did you know that building executive functioning and self-regulation skills can be fun? Click on the links below to find games and activities recommended by Harvard’s Center on Child Development to strengthen skills like planning, working memory, impulse control and flexible thinking. Here in school, strong executive functioning skills can help children follow directions, solve problems and manage long-term projects!
Enjoy!!

September Restaurant Night
Parents on the Playground
Come be a kid for the afternoon and join our students for Parents on the Playground! You can sign up for one lunch time or the whole day, whatever fits your schedule! Play tag, push kids on the swings, be a challenger in a game of four square - whatever you choose, you are a ROCK STAR to the kids!
RENDEZVOUS HOEDOWN
A Musical Performance by 4th Graders
The 4th grade classes will be re-enacting an historical “social,” or hoedown, similar to those held at Rendezvous in Colorado between 1825-1840. These Rendezvous provided a place for hunters, trappers, and fur traders to trade their wares and socialize after months in the mountains and forests of Colorado.
- WHO: ALL 4th grade students and their guests
- WHAT: A social hoedown in the manner of historical Rendezvous
- WHEN: Thursday, October 26th at 5:30-6:00 p.m. – student performers, please report to your classroom by 5:15 p.m.
- WHERE: Lois Lenski Multipurpose Room
- WEAR?: Students should wear something that reflects Colorado’s heritage. This could be “pioneer wear,” “rancher/cowboy wear,” “farmer wear,” etc. No need to purchase an official costume - something as simple as jeans, shirt, and bandana is completely fine. Please, no hats.
🌟Welcome to 2nd Grade🌟
Lenski Team Highlight
We are excited to introduce to our amazing 2nd Grade Team at Lenski! Mrs. Broussely, Mrs. Capps, Mrs Brown, and Mrs. Fahlstedt digs deeper into the foundational skills presented in Kindergarten and 1st Grade. You will often see 2nd graders participating in special events like reading to horses, becoming scientist, and becoming pioneers like in the “olden’ days.” Our second grade team works hard to make everlasting memories for our Lenski students. It’s definitely fun to be a second grader at Lenski!
